In terms of ability to express...graphics and audio have significantly evolved in the last 20 years. But what is being expressed has not changed at all. I think this is a problem that needs to be fixed. If the game is only about defeating the bad guys, you probably won't see any culture or ethnicity. I think this is a problem for us game creators as well. With that in mind, I would like to create games that have more depth. Also, although the games have evolved in the last 20 years, they will continue to evolve in the next 20 to 30 years. New technologies will be introduced making what was impossible possible. We will certainly see improvement in expression itself and controllability. But we should also be aware how the mindset of games has failed to change in the last 20 years. Mario is still fighting Koopa. We need to create games that are different from that.
